Thematic seminar ”Empowerment”: 23.05.2006 Sweden

Within the framework of “Balancing Life in Europe” TCA, a thematic seminar was held in Karlstad, Varmland, Sweden the 23 of May 2006. This seminar dealt with the topic Empowerment, parenthood, social insurance and social services, in a gender and ethnical perspective.To improve the balance between people’s working and personal spheres.
The duration of this seminar was one day and consisted of a number of performances and round tables around the topic Empowerment. The different performances reflected different approaches to the topic, from the Swedish welfare system in a European perspective, the family guidance of the Swedish Church to male parenthood/ parental education as “daddy” – leaders and parental education for “new” Swedish citizens and integration.

The transnational partners ended the seminar with presentations about private sectors initiatives in Czech Republic and challenge of improving public resources in Andalucia, Spain. The total number of participants to this seminar was 35 people, among which 10 were men and 25 were women.
